Teeth Whitening with a store bought whitening kit is a cost effective way to get whiter teeth and a brighter smile but not always as effective as an In House Teeth Whitening by a Dentist.
Do it yourself whitening kits are much cheaper than a Dentist but you may not get the desired result. Here is an inexpensive 5 minute system that can be purchased for less than $5 and achieves great results.
I have never had a professional whitening procedure done by my Dentist because I was too cheap to fork over $300, but I was willing to pay the $5 to get the Lornamead 5 minute kit.
It was very pleased with the outcome. After using the kit for 3 days there was a noticeable difference to the shade of my teeth. They were about 2 shades whiter. As you age teeth change colors and an at home teeth whitener is one method of bringing your smile back to a whiter smile without hurting your budget.
It was very simple to use. Just add a line of whitening gel across the entire upper and lower mouthpiece that comes with the kit and insert over your teeth. Let sit for 5 or 10 minutes and your done. Repeat the steps for the next few days to achieve maximum results.
Unfortunately the tray is too small to reach the back teeth unless you have a larger one sitting around. Or it could be true what my friends have told me for many years - that I just have a big mouth. To work around this I simply dabbed a little gel my back teeth prior to inserting the mouthpiece.
Be careful not to get too much gel on your gums. Some folks have complained that the gel had caused a minor irritation to the gum line, though it did not bother me at all. I would avoid using any type of at home kit if you have very sensitive teeth and gums.
The Lornamead 5 minute teeth whitening system may not be quite as good the professional job by your Dentist but it did exactly what I needed it to. I wasn't looking for a movie star smile - just a couple of shades whiter. This did just that and for less than five dollars.
